DATES: NOVEMBER 3-DECEMBER 8 (NO CLASS NOV 24) TIME: 7:00-9:30 pm PST FIRST Week 1-3 ZOOM, Week 4 & 5 IN PERSON at Upstairs @ El Centro *Showcase Rehearsal December 1 and Showcase Performance December 8 in-person in LA Jam packed full of scenes from: Comedy, Horror, & Holiday Films with an IN-PERSON INDUSTRY SHOWCASE. Transition from the acting class to the working actor in this perfect gateway class. Ready to take your skills and implement them weekly in a space rooting for you to GROW?! Elevate your acting skills with our 5 week, 2.5 hour Themed Scene Study Workshop with casting director Skyler Zurn. This is a hybrid class, with the first three weeks taking place over zoom, and week 4+5 will be in-person at a studio in LA. Join a small group of dedicated actors for an intensive weekly session focused on character development, emotional range, and relationship dynamics. Get assigned a scene from the genre of the week and partners to develop your range, work on building chemistry with scene parters, and keep up with current market trends. Learn special tips and tricks from a casting professional on how to stand out to creatives. GENRES OF FOCUS - NOVEMBER Weeks 1-3: Comedy, Horror, Holiday BREAK THANKSGIVING WEEK (NOV 24) Weeks 4 & 5 - SHOWCASE FOCUS: Be assigned a Chem Read scene to work session live with Skyler in an intense class to be prepared and ready to perform for the guests with the same scene the following week. Industry Guests will watch, critique and write written evaluation forms for your final performance. The showcase performance will be followed by a mixer event to mingle and network! Each student will get 2 invites to this showcase. Showcase at Upstairs@ El Centro NIGHTLY SCENE COMPETITION: There will be a nightly scene competition where the top performer of the evening win an amazon gift card - $15 for the winner!
